About.

With a decade of drumming experience under his belt, Carter brings a wealth of expertise to his teaching having taught privately for the past five years. As a player first and foremost, Carter's teaching philosophy centres around translating practice into tangible applications, always keeping an end goal in mind. Additionally, drawing from his studies with Dr. Noa Kageyama, Carter incorporates principles of practice psychology into his teachings, offering students effective strategies for skill development and retention. In addition to drums, Carter is also able to teach Bass & Guitar supplementary to kit lessons. A popular arrangement that students have opted for is a split a lesson between drums and bass/guitar. Carter is able to tutor students through Music GCSE’s, Graded Exams & Auditions etc. Pricing and lesson bundles can be found on the Tutoring page.

Inspired by a wide array of drummers across various styles of music, some of his favourites would include the likes of Tony Williams, Mark Guiliana, Roy Haynes Elvin Jones, Nate Smith, Yussef Dayes and John Bonham. Carter remains active in London's vibrant jazz scene, while also upholding his roots with groups in the contemporary music landscape.

Carter is certified with a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, and has also completed numerous safeguarding and ethics modules as part of his study at ACM.
